long awaited update

Well, here I am, how many months behind? Where to begin...
Maxton is growing up faster than I could ever imagine. He is walking. He is talking. He is in to everything! He knows exactly what he wants, and doesn't give up until he has figured out how to get it. He is quite the little boy. He is so much fun. My favorite thing is when I wake him up in the morning for school, but all he wants to do is sit in my lap and hug me. I hope he never grows out of that stage. He laughs, he dances, he digs in the dirt. He loves to go on bike rides and he loves to play with water anyway he can; from the bathtub to the hose, from the ocean to the mud puddles.

Holiday update

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Well, it has been busy the last couple months. Maxton is growing into quite the little man. He is crawling everywhere, pulling himself up on everything and then walking around anything he can. He can stand on his own, but once he realizes what he is doing, he will fall to his bottom laughing. He has found the stairs and can climb like a champ. He made it to the top his first try. We had to quickly put up a gate. He likes music. He likes to make it and to dance to it. His dancing is quite cute, he "shakes his booty". He is eating anything and everything it seems. He tries something new everyday. Thanks to Grandpa Dave though, he knows how to stick out his tongue and blow spit. He particularly likes to do this when he is full or he doesn't like something. Thanks Dad:). He gives the best hugs and kisses, even though his kisses are pretty slobbery. There is nothing better than a big hug from Maxton after a long day. He definitely has a mind of his own and when he is determined he doesn't give up easily. Like I said before he is moving around everywhere, this being said he is into everything. We are trying to teach him boundaries. There are things he knows he shouldn't get into, but he will look to see if you are looking and if not he will move right to his target. We will let him know he is not to get into whatever he was after and move him. He will attempt this many times a day, clapping once he has done whatever it is he was trying. He definitely keeps us on our toes.

As far as Mike and myself we are doing fine. We did get food poisoning on Monday however. I was over it on Monday, but it has stayed with Mike all week. I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled on Tuesday, but I'm doing fine. Other than that not much is new with us.

Dad and Patti came down for Christmas, which was great. They got Maxton a walking/riding truck which he loves. I can see him walking on his own any day now, especially after seeing him walk with the truck.

I hope this New Year brings many happy memories to everyone. We are blessed to have you all in our lives.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Maxton is very mobile these days. One of his favorite places to hang out is by Bucky's cage. I don't know what it is about the cage, but it definitely interests him. I guess it makes noise if you pound on it , so that may have something to do with it.
Maxton has found the stairs...oh no! He climbed all the way to the top his first attempt.

His first Harley.

Look Ma I can walk!

Breanne reading to Maxton

I have been trying to put these on here for a while, and finally figured out how to do it. Maxton loves to listen to Breanne's voice, whether she is reading, singing or just talking to him. He loves his auntie.

9 month update...

Well, I have been getting some grief for taking so long, but here we are. Maxton is on my lap helping so please excuse any miss spelled words or extra letters added in. It seems to have been a very busy month. For starters, Maxton and I have been sick for most, if not all of it. Just when we think we are getting better, one of us takes a turn for the worse. But this too shall pass...hopefully sooner than later.

Now for the exciting news...where to start...

He will follow me from room to room, no matter how long it takes him. And when he finally gets there he is so proud of himself and so excited to see me, as if it is the first time he has seen me all day. He is pulling himself up and then slowly moving from side to side. He will leave all his toys just to get to the dogs toy. He loves to play with paper, pot lids and wooden spoons...anything that makes noise. He loves bath time, or tubber time as Mike calls it. He would stay in there "swimming" all day if I would let him. He will turn over, turn around, slide from one end to another and kick and splash the whole time. I have to clean him as soon as I get him in there or he is too busy to sit still. He is throwing balls a little better, this definitely excites Michael. He looks for the dogs when he hears them moving around. He will try to see you if you walk into another room. He claps his hands all the time. Actually, the other day Maxton and I were upstairs watching Michael work out. When he was done lifting Maxton started clapping for him, this was with no coaching. We thought it may be a fluke so Mike tried again. Maxton clapped again. This went on for the rest of Michael's work out. It was so cute. He is such an adorable, wonderful little man. I can not say enough how lucky we are. Even when he is sick...forever...he is still the best behaved little boy ever.

Now to explain why my son is in a Huggies box. I had picked up diapers and was putting them away when he decided to play with the box. I thought why not put him in it and push him around like a box car, so that's what I did, and he loved it. He liked it so much he wanted to stay in there and play.

The next picture is Maxton in his Halloween costume that Grandma Donna got for him. He was Frankenstien. Isn't he scary:)?!

And of course my boys sleeping. They always look so peaceful.

Well, until next month I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I want you all to know how thankful I am that you are in our lives. You all mean the world to me. I love you all.

October Update

Good Friday Afternoon Everyone!!!
It's the weekend...yippee. I got out of work at 12:30 and had Maxton by 1:00. We played for about an hour and now he is sleeping. I don't know why it is, but he sleeps much longer when he is home with me in the afternoons than he does at school. I guess there is less going on here so he gets more sound sleep, but I look forward to getting home early to play with him. Oh well, he will be rested up for his fall party at school tonight. That's right, he has a school party to attend tonight. There will be balloons, a cake walk, pumpkins and lots of fun! Tomorrow we have a neighborhood fall party to attend. Boy you would think we are a partying family. This will be the most eventful weekend in awhile.
OK, now that I have all that out I am sure you are all dieing to here about Maxton's 8 month highlights. Well...where d I start??? He is just growing way too fast. He is moving all around. He tries to crawl, but can move faster right now by doing the army crawl. He is clapping with a huge grin that shows off his two growing teeth. And he is pulling himself up on things.
Mike and Maxton were home together for 5 days without me. They did wonderful. I even did alright this time. Mike had alot to do with that. He let me know that everything was ok, but they needed me and were so happy I was home. And this time, being that Maxton is older, he recognized me and reached for me even though he was tired.
Last weekend we all went over to moms house and had our 2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving Party. This time Maxton had more of a role than last year ;). Here are some pictures from the party...

Seven Month Update

I am sorry I only seem to be updating the blog once a month. I do feel good that it is at least once a month...ish. I would like to blog every day, or at least a couple times a week, but I would have to give up Maxton time, and I'm not willing to do that. So until I am better at managing my time, this will do.

Maxton has had a busy month. He is now rolling over like a champ, sitting up on his own and getting into everything scooting and rolling can get him to. He has such a wonderful personality. He is still a serious little observer, but he giggles so much more. I love it when he is getting a little tired. He will just start talking away and laugh at anything you do. What a bundle of joy.

He went on his first plane trip in August. He flew better than his dad. (sorry Michael) He got to see many of his loved ones from Ohio and most of his loved ones from the Dopp family. It was a great trip. Very busy, but wonderful to see everyone. While up North he also went to the Van Wert County Fair and his first baseball game, Tigers vs. Royals...Tigers won!

I don't know much else right now, except that he is eating more cereal and baby food. He is still nursing also. He loves applesauce, and I think he likes sweet peas and sweet potatoes enough to eat something, but they are not his favorite now that he has had fruit.

Here are some pictures from our trip.
